Publishing Advisory Board

The Publishing Advisory Board consists of established computer scientists and research information infrastructure experts. The purpose of the Dagstuhl Publishing Advisory Board is to provide support of and scientific supervision for the publishing department of Schloss Dagstuhl LZI.

  • Task. ·The purpose of the Dagstuhl Publishing Advisory Board is to provide support of and scientific supervision for the publishing department of Schloss Dagstuhl LZI. In particular, the board
    • advises in all matters regarding the strategic development of Dagstuhl Publishing,
    • defines the guidelines and standards regulating the inclusion of new series and journals into the portfolio of Dagstuhl Publishing,
    • monitors the development of Dagstuhl Publishing,
    • supports the publishing team by providing their expertise.
  • Membership. The Publishing Advisory Board consists of established computer scientists and research information infrastructure experts. The Scientific Director of Schloss Dagstuhl LZI or his/her representative is a member of the board. The board should consist of at least six, but no more than ten members in total. The composition of the board shall heed to the established notions of diversity. Membership is unremunerated.
  • Mandate. Apart from the Scientific Director of Schloss Dagstuhl LZI, board members have a mandate of 4 calendar years, renewable once. Former members may be appointed again, after a gap of at least 4 years. New members are nominated and appointed by the current board in consultation with Schloss Dagstuhl's Scientific Advisory Board.
  • Chairperson. The members of the Publishing Advisory Board elect one of their members as chairperson for a 2-year mandate, renewable twice. The chairperson convenes and chairs the meetings of the board. The chairperson is supported in all administrative matters by Schloss Dagstuhl LZI.
  • Meetings. The Publishing Advisory Board usually meets once a year in the Schloss Dagstuhl facilities in Wadern, Germany. Members may attend in person or by means of electronic communication. Meetings should be scheduled ideally one year in advance, but at least six weeks before the meeting takes place.
  • Decisions. Decisions of the Publishing Advisory Board need the majority of the members of the board. The individual voting right can be transferred to another member of the board, but only by written statement.
  • Meeting notes. ·Minutes of each meeting shall be made publicly available on the web. Personal or sensitive data shall be omitted in these public notes but shall be recorded in a separate internal summary.
